VMTurbo Virtualization Management, Monitoring, Optimization and Automation Appliances

VMTurbo’s virtual appliances use patented analytics to automate key virtualization management operational procedures. Companies worldwide use VMTurbo software for realtime, automated management of virtual infrastructure health, virtual machine performance, and capacity.

The suite's modules work in concert, addressing the past, present and future:

  • The Monitor provides real-time insights: How are we doing? Do we have any problems now? Is our environment in a healthy state?
  • The Reporter provides key historical insights: How well did we do in the past? Where/what can we do better?
  • The Planner helps you prepare for change: What do we do to ensure our environment stays healthy and continues to deliver the required service/performance most efficiently?
  • The Optimizer maintains the environment in a healthy state through continuous monitoring, recommending and executing the necessary actions to resolve and prevent these problems.

Four modules, one VMware Suite

Monitor

Real time performance monitoring, alerting, and problem detection. A color-coded dashboard shows your infrastructure’s health at a glance, covering all major physical and virtual resources including CPU, Memory, IO, Network, Swapping, Ballooning, and Ready queues, Datastore IOPS, Latency and Space.  The Monitor detects a wide range of resource problems and bottlenecks including CPU and Memory congestion, co-scheduling congestion, storage and network bottlenecks, over- and under-utilization, and identifies VMs impacted by the bottlenecks.

Reporter

The Reporter provides historical reports for all physical and virtual & resources, including analytics for performance bottlenecks and over- and under-utilized resources. The key resources (CPU, Memory, IO, Network, Swapping, Ballooning, Ready queues, Datastore IOPS, Latency and Space) are presented in tabular and graphical form.  Wasted resource reports identify dormant VM sprawl, wasted storage and VM Rightsizing candidates. Powerful grouping enable you to create reports with a focus which relevant is relevant to each stakeholder.

Planner

What-if planning tools for addressing changes in existing workload, adding new workloads, and/or upgrading, provisioning or decommissioning of physical hardware. The wizard-based tool streamlines the definition of your planning scenarios. Planning templates simplify specification of physical host and storage hardware models to drive transformation planning.  Automatically create detailed action plans including workload placement and capacity provisioning/decommissioning too avoid over-provisioning, and preserve service levels.

Optimizer

Real-time problem resolution and workload balancing.  The Optimizer finds and fixes problems, and continuously optimizes the workload balance and physical and virtual capacity across the entire infrastructure to preserve service levels and improve ROI. It identifies resource bottlenecks and congestion through a holistic view of virtual infrastructure, and addresses them through a rich set of corrective actions to resolve bottlenecks (VM placement across servers and data stores; Provisioning and decommissioning servers and storage; Shutdown and suspension; Etc.)  The flexible automation policies (recommendation, manual or automatic execution) leave you in control.
