Question Does Anyone Use Basic HTML Anymore?

I have been creating websites using basic HTML since the days of the Geocities personal website builders. I started out in junior high school and taught myself everything using websites just like this one. Throughout college, I learned more about website design and the use of Java, Perl, Dreamweaver and other website design software. Even with all of this knowledge, I prefer to get back to basics when I create a website. I may start with an editor and get the basic CSS and Java configured, but then I open up old reliable Word Pad and dig in to the HTML. I'm just wondering if I am the only dinosaur out here using basic HTML these days. Make me feel better and give me your HTML story.

Thumbs up thats great

Fine dude, you are doing it in the right way. When we rely more on helping programmes like dreamweaver, we may forget the basics. But, to keep your site more dynamic, you need Java or atleast JavaScript. That also, you can do all manually.

Hey I still stick with basic HTML too. I also use some Java and Javascript when required. I generally let my software install all of that and edit it as needed since I do know how to do the Java and JS manually. Makes the edits easier if the software has all your tags set up the correct way.

I try to use Java only when needed. When I do use it, I perfer JBuilder as it is very simple to work with and does everything that is needed.

When you use Java continuously, you will become addicted to that, especially the swing are all extremely fun. The main thing is that it's developing everyday.

No way too many good CMS programs out there, no one really uses basic HTML anymore.

basic HTML still serves a purpose. Coders like myself still enjoy coding from scratch and not using WYSIWYG and drap n drop interface type programs.
