Domain masking using htaccess

i have 2 domains hosted and pointing at the same domain but I would like the same url to show for both domains as they are actually the same site.

For example (these urls dont exist) I have www.domain-town.co.uk and www.domain-borough.co.uk They both point at the same hosting server and will both show the same site but with a different url in the browser.

For instance if you enter www.domain-town.co.uk it will bring the site up and show www.domain-town.co.uk as url in the browser if you enter www.domain-borough.co.uk it will bring the same site up and show www.domain-borough.co.uk as the url.

i would like both domains to do what they are doing now but only to show the www.domain-borough.co.uk url in the browser.

I do not want to do this with a redirect as search engines may penalise me for this. I have been told to do this using the .htaccess file but dont know what to put in it.

Please help

301 Redirect it.

There is no way other than redirect. If you want to "show" a different url in the address bar, then you have to tell the browser to "go to the new url", and that means redirect. There are many ways, .htaccess is one of them, but essentially it IS going to be redirect.
