Default Advanced Wordpress Theme – StudioBlue v2

I run a premium WordPress themes club at ElegantThemes.com, and have just released a new version of one of my themes: StudioBlue. The idea behind this re-release is to expand on the theme's options, and give users more control over their blog. Here is a list of things that I have added:

1. Blog Color Changer

The theme allows you to switch between 5 different color styles. This is done via a simple dropdown menu from within wp-admin, and you can switch back and forth whenever you like.

2. Optional Blog-style Post Layout

If you are not a fan of the news-style layout on the homepage, or feel that the character limit/CMS appearance does not suite your blog, you can switch to a traditional blog-style layout. This is also done via wp-admin, and can be switched back and forth at the click of a button.

3. Improved Advertisement Management

I have expanded on the banner options available. You can now choose between the following ad sizes and positions:

* 4 125×125px Banners in the Sidebar
* 1 250×250 Banner in the Sidebar
* 1 468×60 Banner in the Header
* 1 728×90 Leaderboard Above the Content

All of these are optional, and can be turned on and off independently from within the theme's options menu.

4. Optional Categories Dropdown Menu

I have added a dropdown menu function to the categories navigation bar. This is also optional, and can be turned on and off from within the theme’s options menu.

5. Homepage Settings

Most of the elements on the homepage can be turned on and off, included the featured articles, the 2 category boxes, and the random/popular post lists. You can also control how many featured articles, recent posts, and recent posts within the category boxes are shown.

6. Post-Page Settings

You can now turn off the thumbnails on post pages. In some case the thumbnail acted as preview for an image that was already included in the post, in this case you might not want a thumbnail on the post-page at all. You can also choose to enable/disable the tabbed menu below the post. I have also added to ability to change the comments style from the “graphical” style that is currently active, to a more minimal style without images or gravatars. (I removed the gravatar plugin and am using wordpress’ native gravatar function now)
