I think there are lot of method to get backlinks easily like from directory submission, blog commenting, web 2.0 properties and article marketing but these backlinks are only free when you will so all tasks yourself otherwise you have to pay to link building companies.

There are so many ways to get backlinks.
You can participate in forums in your niche, comment on blog(don't spam these), go for link exchange, article submissions, directory submissions,link baiting etc.

The best way to get free backlink is by submitting site to different directories.Most of the directories keep links for a year atleast.
