PHP has upper hand in running multimedia files as PHP is not much dependent upon external plug-ins to run the programs. It is executed exclusively by server and therefore need nothing from the end users. PHP must be installed on the server and server parses the code at its source, executes and sends it properly send properly formatted html to the client computer.

Hello....!!!!!
Well according to me PHP is more benificial than dot net as because PHP is an open source whereas dot net is a microsoft product,if a client gives a website to be build up in dot net he have to pay something to the client,but this is not the case in PHP,apart from that the codings are less complex compared to dot net and you can send directly mail having mail php script,but in dot net for sending mail you have to do lots of coding.........

If your server is PHP enabled, a much better solution than all these is particularly PHP. Basically, inserted a PHP include in HTML in a web page tells the browser to download an HTML file from the server and include them when it makes the web page. This means you only need a file containing your navigation links in the saved on your server, and each of your pages can be done, including this file.
