Default Joomla or Drupal?

Of the open source cms sites out there, what do you prefer to use for development - Joomla or Drupal?

I've done probably 20 sites in Joomla but I've never used Drupal... what advantages to either?

Hello,

I don't really like Joomla. I know I am being kind of bias of my own opinions. But I found one called "lanius" formally drake. It works so well..

Has Forum, Guestbook, Submit News, and a ton of other CMS, there were a few bugs. But they clear in about a day.

I made one with it:::

Canadian Vs. American Health Care - General News - Talk about it all - Bozoness News Try that out...

Good Luck

Drupal is more powerful CMS, but a litlle more complicated in the usage than Joomla.

Also i suggest to use follw free PHP IDE for it:
Codelobster PHP Edition
with special Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, Smarty and JQuery plug-ins.

surprisingly joomla doesn't have seo friendly/human readable url's out of the box - you have to install an extra module for those

I'm sure Drupal is more flexible but both are behemoths. Generally far more than most users need. As for which is best - that really depends on what you're doing, who's managing it and what flexibility you need.

Making comparisons between Joomla and Drupal are very common these days as they are currently considered the top two open source content management systems out there. The forum post written by Steve Burge contains a link that takes you to a comparison table he did between Joomla and Drupal.

I've had more than a few conversations recently about which CMS is better. From the Joomla camp I hear, "Joomla is easier. Joomla has a great user interface." From its competitor I hear, "Drupal is more flexible and it has tagging." It's the Pepsi versus Coke debate for open source CMSes. Okay, that's overstating a bit, but you get the idea. There are sizable camps backing each CMS. I've come in true Canadian style to mediate this debate. So, Drupalers put down your bats. Joomla programmers slip your brass knuckles back into your pockets. I've come to acknowlege the boons and busts of each of your CMSes.
