What is the way in which I can make the back links for my website better in Google?

For last 3 months, I am working for certain auction website. It held PR2 in last update of Google PR. Even though it has just about 3 back links in Google, it has the capability to get quality traffic. I too wish to enhance the back links for my website in Google. I have to have to have some back links for my website and therefore I require the advices of several good websites which will provide me with these essential links. I ardently need these back links as Google sincerely considers back links. Does anybody have the knowledge about a way in which I can make my back links better in Google?
