Default Preference in SEO terms for URL file extension?

You can use .html, .htm, .asp, .php, etc as your URL file extension.
I wanted to ask if search engines prefer one of these over others.
Thanks in advance !

If your website is updating regularly then google will not bother for your extension and if you are not updating it regularly then you will never get top of the SE . So, you don't have to think of this.. You can use any extension..
