Google Dance has been used to explain the index update of the Google search engine. Google's index update occurred on average once per month. During an index update there was significant movement in search results and Google showed new backward links for pages.

Google update their index by recalculating the Page ranks of each of the web pages that they have crawled. The period during the update is known as the Google dance. Google Dance would happen anywhere up to 36 times per year, however in 2003 Google begun updating its index on a weekly basis, which all but eliminated the Google Dance.

Google dance is when you do some changes, either on-page or off-page optimization and see changes you’re in your SERP. If you change content on page or bring some inbound links to your web site you will also see some changes in positions at SERP-s, due to many Google data centers.

The name Google Dance is often used to describe the index update of the Google search engine.

Google's index update occurs on average once per month. It can be identified by significant movement in search results.

Generally speaking it takes several days to complete the update. During this period, the old and the new index alternate on Google

Google dance is term used to describe the action of google of restricting some new sites from doing well in the search engine and getting higher page rank in their early stages. Google does it to stop spamming and spammers.

Google dance is the variations in the SERPs that took place during the updating process of Google index that earlier took place once a month. But now the indexing is done continuously so Google dance is now irrelevant.

Google Dance is nothing but a term used to show major index update by Google search engine. The Reason webmasters and Search Engine Optimizers were interested in dance is to know keyword positions on Google in future by checking the other Google servers as they use to be updated before google.com.
