If Google truly avoids keywords, then why does their webmaster tools area show you which keywords are being used to lead to your site? Why do they have tools to help people select keywords? Of course they use keywords, the question is how heavily do they rely on them and in which areas.

Ya that's true google is changing its algorithms...the best option is to put keywords in title and description tag...

no I don't think so even we should have to be more careful now for this and have to add better descriptive meta...

ya if your site had direct visitor then you dont worry about meta tag. but if you looking for visitor from search engine then you have to put meta keyword on your page.

Its not the keywords google dont care about, its the meta description and meta keywords.
Meta data still counts for other search engines so its not a big issue not having it.
