when will website gets PR?

i 'm just wondering how much time (days, weeks, months) it takes to get PR of website.

i have a site a month old. still no PR. i wonder when google update PR thing.

my friend had started his webpage in may and that month he had a holiday and give full effort to promoting and seo... he just worked for one month.. now in august he got PR 2 as you can see he just concentrated for one month and the PR increased in next months... you can do it also... just know what you need to do..
