Form the two sites i think facebook is a better site for socialising as well as for promotion of wen sites. Facebook is also more popular and have larger number of users compared to twitter.

I find facebook more effective comnapred to twitter as its generates more hits and is better for socialising too. its very good for making new connections and also for promotions of site.

My vote goes to Twitter. It is simpler and from a user interface perspective has much less clutter. Twitter is a far better social networking tool, as it allows its users to randomly find other users with specific interests – if someone twits about a subject they are obviously interested or involved with that subject matter. I am running a digital guidebook business for outdoor adventure locations, and have found Twitter to be a very useful tool to link with like minded individuals and companies.
