What is the best way to get people to comment on your blog?

Are there any techniques people have to encourage readers to comment or do you just have to be controversial in your blog postings? I'm not sure I want to be controversial just for the sake of it, I'd rather get positive or negative feedback on the article itself or maybe readers own thoughts on the subject.

If you have useful content and have a good amount of traffic specially from social media sites that can help you to get more comments.

Try to post some thing new, fresh and unique the people will comment on your blog and before it you have to get good traffic because when people visit it then they will post comment on your blog.
