Thumbs down Facebook Solicitations

Well, it appears that Facebook is going to let the marketing hounds loose on all of its wonderful members. Oh, but thankfully they are going to ensure that all of this marketing is kept legal! Surely we are not to believe that Facebook moderators will be examining these advertisers content to this extent. If you want privacy, my suggestion is to let Facebook know how you feel and/or cancel your account before you are attacked.

I think I can help your understanding a little on this. Facebook has always allowed the members to create groups based on fraternities, bands and other favorites of the members. Now, Facebook is going to allow businesses to create their own groups to advertise to members. There will be a Mastercard group for college kids to view as well as many other major companies like Apple and probably Microsoft. In other words, very impressionable college kids are going to be bombarded with advertisements of "Get a credit card today" and "Buy a Mac on a monthly payment plan!". This is going to add to the debt that these students are already suffering through. I definitely do not think it is a good idea.

I think that is a smart way of earning money facebook has thought. now they will charge advertisers for the group they make.
